Mount Meru

Mount Meru is one of the highest and most beautiful volcanoes in Africa. At a height of 4,566 m (14,980 ft), Mount Meru is the fifth highest mountain in Africa.

The Mountain is an active stratovolcano located 70 km (43 miles) west of Mount Kilimanjaro in Arusha national park. A national park that hosts a diverse wildlife including over 400 species of birds and the black and white Colobus monkey.

Climbing the mountain you will pass through parkland, montane forest, a giant heather zone and moorland which all makes it a beautiful but challenging experience.
