Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

You arrive in Moshi, Tanzania, the starting point for your Mount Kilimanjaro trek. Here, you meet your trekking team and guides, go through a pre-trek briefing, and make final preparations for the journey ahead.

After breakfast, drive to the Rongai Gate where your trek begins. Hike through lush rainforest to the First Cave Camp. The hike takes about 4-5 hours, covering a distance of approximately 8 km. Overnight camping at First Cave Camp.

Continue through moorland with stunning views. The hike takes around 6-7 hours, covering a distance of approximately 12 km. Arrive at Kikelewa Camp for overnight camping.

The trail leads you to Mawenzi Tarn Camp at the base of Mawenzi Peak. The hike takes about 3-4 hours, covering a distance of approximately 5 km. Overnight camping at Mawenzi Tarn Camp.

Ascend to Kibo Hut, your base for the summit attempt. The hike takes around 4-5 hours, covering a distance of approximately 9 km. Rest and prepare for the final ascent. Overnight at Kibo Hut.

Begin the summit attempt around midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Kilimanjaro, in time for sunrise. Descend to Horombo Hut for overnight stay. The ascent takes about 6-8 hours, and the descent to Horombo Hut takes around 5-7 hours.

Descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate. Collect your summit certificate and celebrate your achievement. The hike takes about 5-6 hours, covering a distance of approximately 20 km. Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.

Please note that climbing Kilimanjaro is physically demanding and requires proper preparation. While this 6-day itinerary is a condensed version, adding an extra day for acclimatization is highly recommended to increase your chances of a successful summit.
